Kutri's Rich Finnish Heritage

My roots are sunk deep into the Finnish soil. My father was from Viipuri, Karjala, that beloved portion of Finland that was given to Russia in order to make an end to war. My mother was from Petäjävesi, Häme, a region of introspective, reserved people. I myself was born and grew up in Pohjois-Karjala (North Karelia), in its capital Joensuu. I was immersed in the Finnish culture, as anyone would be in her own, and it is this Finnishness that remains my guiding light. I truly have a rich heritage, as can be learned from these pages.
